A week after the Parent and Child Tournament, the Family Tournament was played on Sunday 15 March. By now a fixture on the HTC tournament calendar, this time with fourteen family teams. The father-son combination was by far the most popular (11 times), and the number of former winners also stood out. No fewer than ten players could find their name on the coveted challenge cup!

As always at this tournament, many family members of all ages came to watch, despite the bright spring sunshine outside. The first round consisted of groups of three and four teams. Most of the higher-seeded teams lived up to expectations and qualified for the main round of eight teams. The other six teams played each other in the consolation round to decide who was strongest there. In the end the honour went to Ralph and Floris, who beat Pavol and Alexander in the final.

The main round was an exciting affair, with, as mentioned, many former winners among the players. Even though the matches were short, best of three, stamina did start to count towards the end of the afternoon. Ioannis and Mark reached the semi-final without much trouble, joined by Rob and Nick. In the other group, Hans/Danny and Rinus/Mayckel were clearly the strongest pairs of the day. The final was between Ioannis/Mark and Hans/Danny, and the former took the honours. So two more new names on the challenge cup!
